CELTIC FROST's TOM GABRIEL FISCHER: Signing With Noise/Sanctuary Is Not An Option
March 28, 2002In a recent posting at www.celticfrost.com, CELTIC FROST frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer rejected outright the possiblity of the group re-signing with Noise/Sanctuary Records for their upcoming comeback release, which is tentatively due in early 2003. According to Fischer, “the recent acquisition of Noise Records by Rod Smallwood's Sanctuary Group has made any future cooperation between Noise and CF *extremely* unlikely. Even though [former Noise Records boss] Karl [Walterbach] is no longer an active force at Noise (and hasn't been for many years),it is our opinion that Rod Smallwood's presence within the company's structure might likely have similar effects, particularly in the case of CELTIC FROST.
“In the course of the work on the CF re-issue CDs and immediately following this work, Noise Records actually brought up the topic of a future cooperation between the band and the label. It was an interesting idea, because the revamped label management under Antje Lange was excellent and extremely professional, as was the label's staff. However, the change of ownership has all but ended any serious interest from our side.”
